The PHP Hydra lets your 7.3L Powerstroke run different engine calibrations for towing, daily driving and performance. It changes how the PCM commands fueling and engine operation, helping a healthy stock truck deliver stronger acceleration and pulling power than its factory calibration. Let us load your Hydra before it ships. Choose Yes under Send Tunes Preloaded and we will load the standard PHP tunes you select for your truck. Save the initial software setup and tune-loading work for an additional $100.
Choose how you want your Hydra delivered
- Preloaded — add $100: select Yes, choose your year and tunes, and enter your PCM code and transmission type. We handle loading the selected tunes before shipping.
- Load it yourself — no preload charge: select No (Send Hydra Blank). You receive a blank Hydra and load compatible standard PHP files yourself using the free HydraFlash software on a Windows computer.
What comes with your chip
The physical PHP Hydra chip, digital selector, ribbon cable and USB cable are included. The Hydra has 15 selectable tune positions, plus bypass and no-start modes.
- Fitment: 1994.5–2003 7.3L Powerstroke; not the 7.3L IDI or 6.0L/6.4L/6.7L engines.
- Upgraded injectors or a modified setup? The $100 service loads the standard PHP tunes offered in this page’s selector. It does not include custom Jelibuilt tuning; modified injectors need files matched to the setup.
Questions before you order
What does the $100 preloaded option include?
It covers loading the standard PHP tunes you select onto your new Hydra before it ships. The $100 is added to the chip price. Provide the correct PCM code and transmission type so the files can be matched to your truck.
Where do I choose my preloaded tunes?
First select Yes under Send Tunes Preloaded. Then choose the year group to reveal Select HydraChip Tunes (15 Total). Complete your tune selections, PCM code and transmission type before adding to cart.
What tune options are available?
The selector includes towing, daily-driver, performance, high-idle, Whisper Mode, Fuel Sipper, valet and Teen Driver options. The menu changes with the year group; use the choices shown for your truck. Suitability also depends on the PCM, transmission and modifications.
Do I still have to load the tunes myself if I choose preloaded?
We handle the initial loading for you. You still need to install the chip according to PHP’s instructions. If you later want to change or reload files yourself, use HydraFlash on a Windows computer.
Is preloading the same as custom Jelibuilt tuning?
No. Preloading is the $100 service for the standard PHP choices on this page. custom Jelibuilt tuning is a separate purchase for a tailored calibration. If you have modified injectors or need setup-specific files, Call (979) 575-0024 before choosing standard tunes.
What if I do not know my PCM code?
The form asks for the code located on your PCM. Call (979) 575-0024 if you need help locating it. Do not guess; missing or incorrect information can delay preparation or result in the wrong calibration.
Where do I get software and installation information?
Use the official PHP downloads page and Hydra product guide. Follow the manufacturer’s installation instructions.
Which tune should I use for towing?
Choose a towing calibration suited to your truck, load and supporting parts. Tune names and advertised horsepower are not towing-capacity ratings or guaranteed power gains. Stay within your truck’s rated limits.
When will my Hydra ship?
Preloaded orders require your completed tune selections, PCM code and transmission type. If you have an installation deadline, Call (979) 575-0024 to confirm current preparation and dispatch timing. Expedited shipping is the carrier service after dispatch; it does not bypass tune preparation.
