This Mishimoto radiator transfers engine heat from the coolant into the passing air. Its three-row aluminum core and increased fluid capacity are built for the sustained cooling demands of towing, heavy loads and demanding driving in a compatible early OBS 7.3L Powerstroke.
What changes from the factory-style radiator?
- All-aluminum construction: TIG-welded aluminum end tanks replace the plastic-tank construction described for the original radiator, removing that aging plastic-tank failure point.
- Three-row core: provides the heat-transfer and coolant capacity needed for this radiator's early cooling-system layout.
- Magnetic drain plug: captures ferrous debris at the drain plug while providing a service point.
Best for: replacing a leaking or deteriorated radiator, or upgrading the cooling system on a working truck. The gain is heat management and durability rather than a horsepower increase. Fan operation, coolant condition and the rest of the cooling system still matter.

Check both the build date and the installed cooling-system style. Early radiator-fill and later degas-style systems use different radiators. For a truck built around the changeover date, or one with swapped parts, send photos and your build date before choosing.

Compare the replacement’s fill arrangement, hose outlets, mounts and fan-shroud attachment with your original. If they differ, stop and contact us with the order number and photos before modifying or installing the radiator.
